FDA Priority Review accepted for giredestrant in early stage breast cancer

On June 2, 2026, Roche announced that the United States FDA accepted the New Drug Application for giredestrant under Priority Review as adjuvant treatment for adults with ER positive, HER2 negative stage I, II and III breast cancer. The filing is based on the Phase III lidERA study, which reported a 30 percent reduction in the risk of invasive disease recurrence or death versus standard endocrine therapy. The FDA set a decision date of November 30, 2026.

FDA clears Elecsys pTau217 Alzheimer blood test in the United States

On August 24, 2026, Roche announced that the US Food and Drug Administration cleared the Elecsys Phospho Tau 217 Plasma blood test to aid assessment of amyloid pathology associated with Alzheimer’s disease in people aged 55 and older with signs, symptoms or complaints of cognitive decline. Roche said the assay is designed for deployment across more than 4,500 existing cobas laboratory instruments in the United States.
