NERO Chain is a web3 protocol centered around the NERO token. NERO is a general-purpose Layer 1 blockchain that introduces programmable fee logic, multidimensional blockspace pricing, and token-agnostic gas mechanisms. In development since 2022 and launched in 2025, NERO is designed to treat blockspace as a configurable, demand-based commodity. Unlike protocol-controlled-fee models, NERO allows applications to set their own gas fee parameters - including fee currency, subsidy logic, and pricing method - while remaining fully EVM-compatible.
