DTCC, formally The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, operates financial market infrastructure that supports securities clearing, settlement, custody and related post-trade services for financial institutions. Through subsidiaries including The Depository Trust Company, it processes securities transactions, maintains depository records and provides risk management and asset servicing capabilities. Its clients include broker-dealers, banks, investment firms and other participants in regulated capital markets. DTCC also develops digital asset infrastructure, including a tokenization service that lets eligible institutions create and transfer blockchain-based representations of securities held in custody. The service connects traditional securities workflows with approved blockchain networks, including Canton and private Besu infrastructure.
