Chirp’s IoT connectivity is provided by community-owned, radio-agnostic antennas known as Blackbird gateways or miners, currently deployed in 38 countries. Blackbirds support a wide range of IoT protocols, primarily focusing on LoRaWAN and LoRa 2.4 GHz, allowing a broad spectrum of IoT devices to easily connect to the network. Soon, terrestrial Blackbirds will be complemented by Chirp gateways equipped with satellite connectivity, extending IoT coverage to even the most remote areas.
