Bitcoin Core

Bitcoin Core is an open-source software project that develops and maintains a Bitcoin full-node client and wallet used to validate blockchain transactions and operate network nodes. Its software downloads and verifies blocks, applies Bitcoin consensus rules, and relays valid transactions and blocks to other peers. Node operators, developers, and businesses use it to verify activity independently and integrate services with the Bitcoin network. The community-led project accepts code, testing, documentation, and review contributions, while maintainers coordinate software releases and security fixes. It also maintains supporting libraries, including libsecp256k1, and distributes software across major desktop and server operating systems.
