Open Standard Launches OUSD With $1B+ in Liquidity Commitments
OUSD is live across Base, Ethereum, Solana and Tempo, but the $1 billion-plus figure is a near-term liquidity commitment from Open Standard's five founding partners rather than current circulating supply.
Is OUSD already live?
Yes. Open Standard launched OUSD on September 30, 2026, with native support on Base, Ethereum, Solana and Tempo and integrations through major payments and crypto platforms.
Orbitrum Investor Impact
Is more than $1 billion of OUSD already circulating?
No. Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe and Visa committed more than $1 billion to establish OUSD liquidity over the coming months; Open Standard has not described that amount as current circulating supply.
Why does the launch matter for Open Standard?
The founding partners provide OUSD with large potential distribution channels and initial liquidity, while Open Standard's network of more than 200 partners creates additional routes for payments, settlement and trading adoption.
How is OUSD backed and redeemed?
OUSD is issued by Bridge, with reserves held at BlackRock, Lead Bank and BNY. Businesses can mint and burn OUSD 1:1 for U.S. dollars at no cost, and Open Standard says reserve attestations will be published monthly.
Do ordinary OUSD holders receive equity in Open Standard?
Not according to the disclosed structure. The equity opportunity applies to founders and participating partners based on the OUSD supply and transaction activity they help generate.
What should investors watch next?
The key evidence will be how much of the committed liquidity becomes sustained OUSD supply and transaction activity, because the launch commitments do not by themselves demonstrate adoption.
